Planning the plan
As unusual as it might seem for most, the way you plan is important and so is planning. The actual execution would seem simple if you plan well enough.
I have enough information now to let me know what content to write. I have done my SEO research today to figure out the initial content story. I have web pages to write, a whole lot of blog content to write or outsource. I also know which style to write in.
I also have a great idea of where to list (about 40 places) my app when it is ready, how much will it cost me, a fair idea on how much to pay people to bring me customers (affiliate marketing) and all of that. I’ve done that today as well.
TBH, none of it is comprehensive but enough to get me to start. To be even more honest, I do not need more than a simple list to see what’s working and what to change. Iteration to that initial plan will have to be dynamic but I cannot be stuck in the weeds planning. Letting your research focus go after a few hours or a few days is the max you can afford as a boot strapper.
I have put together a short list on how to write, which tool to write it with as well. That will take some more time tomorrow. I also think I know whom to get to write with me.
I reviewed two workflows from the design team who are doing a good job. This took a small chunk of my time.
I still do not understand if I need a lead magnet apart from one long blog post that I am in the process of writing. I probably would need it.
In my research yesterday and today, I found a large graveyard of knowledge base projects that probably went kaput. I paused for a second and then decided to go ahead. Projects and companies fail. allymatter.com might too.
Cheers!
