Day Two
What sucks is unintuitive technology
This is Day Two
Created welcome email for blog subscribers. I do not want to send them anything but what they’ve signed up for. Makes for a cleaner experience and they get what they ask for.
ActiveCampaign doesn’t let me add a different .co domain to send these promotional or blog emails without having IMAP and since Mailgun (Sinch now) doesn’t have it and has just SMTP, I’ve decided to get rid of both AC and MailGun to move the .co domain to Loops.so. Seems intuitive for the most part except for the creation of forms for the WebFlow hosting I have. Will have to do that another day.
The design team will take a day or two to move a blog post to the new design and once they’ve done that I will ask them to implement the forms. People who subscribe to the form on the blog post will get blog updates once a week or so.
Those who will sign up for the waitlist will be sent a series of email, which will hopefully keep them interested in allymatter.com till the product is ready to launch.
I will have to implement a referral program before the site launches so that’s tomorrow. Need to do some research on which is better - Growsurf, Rewardful or PartnerStack. I have got time for this.
I’ve written 2 of the 8 series of emails for people who sign up for the waitlist. I will need to do some more research and write more and finish this before the end of the week.
Had an alright discussion from a developer in Kenya who has built great software in the past. Will need to have some more discussions with him to understand capabilities and ability to deliver. Being a non-tech founder has its challenges.
Bought two more AllyMatter domains for eventual email sending needs when it grows to need it. This is a bad sign as a bootstrapper since you do not want to spend money on things you do not need right away. Do not tell my wife.
Fiddled with PostHog to check some more settings. Quite a few rage clicks. Will fix them in the next website.
I have a list of 70 companies which offer what I offer or close to it. I have put in enough research to discover how to stay different. Will need to write a long post on letting people discover the tools they need to achieve a certain outcome, even if it not allymatter.com
I think I will miss out on writing on other publications - say LinkedIn Articles (who is reading these?), Medium (is it still there and worth it?) - which might give me some more SEO juice.
Apart from what I have above about the various tools which people can use to build a knowledge base, what is that great content that people need to have. Have to think more about that.
This is Day Two.
